Now Anyone Will Be Able to Book PU Chandigarh Auditorium for Events

One of oldest University in India, Panjab University situated in Chandigarh has planned to open the doors of its auditorium for all. Yes, from now onwards anyone can book the auditorium of Punjab University campus in Chandigarh. It was decided in a meeting that was chaired by the Vice Chancellor of PU. According to sources, there will be single window system to book PU auditorium.

After going through many issues raised by the students in the meeting regarding the booking of the auditorium, the VC has decided to have single window system for the same in the University.

Highlights of the New Decision

According to the new decision by the VC of PU (Chandigarh), one single window system will be there to book the auditorium in the University campus. A committee will be formed for the same, from where one can book the University auditorium for various events in the city.

  • Rules and Regulations will also be made by the committee for the booking purpose.
  • A uniform policy will be framed.
  • Before 4 years, the rent has been revised of the auditorium.
  • After the formation of the committee, the rent will be revised.
  • Rent might be increased by 30-40 %.

Once committee will frame the rules, then the proposal will be sent to various departments for the approval purpose, then after getting the no objection certificate from the departments then only the single window system will be started in PU Chandigarh.

And some other decision:

Apart from the single window system, some more decision has been taken in the meeting. 5 member sub-committee has also been set up for the purpose to deal with sexual harassment cases. Another sub-committee has been formed of 6 members to discuss upon the third and fourth amendment as per UGC for direct recruitments and promotion. It may happen that after the set up of the new committee some new rules and regulation can also be amended by the members for the better work of the University.

We can only hope for the best in the city beautiful that can brighten up the future of the students in the city.
