45% People Are Not Happy with PGI Staff & Here’s a Proof

PGI, Chandigarh is a name well known all over India. Located in the City beautiful, PGI technically stands for PGIMER which is an acronym for Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education & Research. It is well known for its dedication, quality staff, state of the art technology and the unique research methodology. But despite being one of the topmost in the country, much of the people getting their treatments at PGI are not happy with the staff behavior.

Who did the Survey?

An IT based Patient feedback mechanism was developed & unveiled by the Health Ministry on August 29, 2016. This service was named as ‘Mera Aspataal‘. This is used to record feedback of the patients that arrive here. According to this application, 45% of the people are unhappy about PGI staff behavior. Approximately 60 hospitals all over India are enrolled with this service. Through this service, patient feedback is recorded that can be used to give star ratings to government hospitals. Government hospitals enrolled here include prominent government hospitals like AIIMS, Delhi & Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital along with PGI, Chandigarh.

The survey has been done by using technologies like web portal, SMS services and IVRS (Interactive Voice Response Service) to record patient feedback.

The Statistics:

Since the time when PGIMER, Chandigarh has been included in the feedback application of ‘Mera Aspataal’, 2,64,778 patients have visited here. SMS’es were sent to around 2,17,861 patients out of which only a handful of 6,582 patients responded back to the authorities. Out of this analysis, on an overall basis 69% people were found satisfied with the overall services and 31% people were unsatisfied. Out of

Besides staff behavior…

According to the data recorded through ‘Mera Aspataal’ application, besides a major chunk of 45% people showed discontent on staff behavior, figures included other categories:

  • 5% people were unsatisfied with the quality of cleanliness at PGI, Chandigarh.
  • 6% people were unhappy about the cost of treatment.
  • 10% people were dissatisfied with the quality of treatment at PGIMER, Chandigarh.
  • 37% people were discontented due to “other reasons”.
  • Besides PGI, Chandigarh, 46% of the people were also dissatisfied with AIIMS, Delhi too for the same reason- ‘staff behavior’.

We hope that this turns out to be a disclaimer and PGI once again improves from better to the best in proving its mark.
