CBI Court Verdict in Rape Case Against Dera Chief Ram Rahim on 25 August | Security up in Punjab & Haryana

In the alleged rape case against Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh, a special CBI (Central Bureau of Investigation) court in Panchkula will pronounce its verdict on August 25. In the charges against Sirsa-based Dera chief, the CBI court has reserved orders for August 25 and has asked the Dera Chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh to remain present in the court on the said date at 2.30pm.

High-tech questioning sessions 

It was reported that due to security reasons Chief of Dera Sacha Sauda, based in Sirsa, Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh had been attending the questioning sessions through video conferencing in the alleged rape case against till now. But this time the court has asked the Dera chief to be present in the court on August 25 at the mentioned time. It was reported, that the date has been reserved for hearing the final arguments in the 15-year-old allege rape case against dera chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh.

Leave of the Police staff canceled

Fearing volatile law and order situation in the vicinity, if the verdict goes against the dera head Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh, governments of both the states -Punjab and Haryana, have sought central forces from the Union home ministry. Police departments of all the three cities Chandigarh, Panchkula and Mohali have cancelled leaves of the staff to ensure foolproof security in tricity. It was reported, that with the hearing being done in a court in Panchkula, Haryana, the Haryana government has further sought 150 companies of paramilitary forces for additional security to maintain law and order in the city. It must be noted that the dera chief, Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh enjoys a Z-plus security cover.

What is the case

It was reported that CBI booked the dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh in almost 15-years ago in December 2002 for allegedly raping two female followers inside the dera. Though the trial in the alleged rape case began nearly six years after the CBI booked Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh in 2008. In the chargesheet prepared by CBI, it claimed to have come across more victims allegedly raped by Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh. The agency could only trace two who were willing to give their statement during the trial in the alleged rape case against the dera chief. It has been recently reported that the agency had produced almost all legal the evidences to nail Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh, the dera chief in the alleged rape case.

Police firm up security 

After the completion of arguments in the alleged rape case against Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh, the special CBI court in Panchkula reserved its verdict for August 25 in the controversial rape case. The Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh has been told to appear before the court on August 25. Ahead of verdict, the police department is all set to firm up security plans to maintain the law and order in the vicinity. To ensure the implementation of the foolproof strategy, members of local intelligence wings have been put on high alert. Furthermore, it was reported that in order to coordinate with the Haryana and Punjab Police departments a special monitoring cell has been formed. According to Police sources, a plan was also being chalked out to seal all the borders of UT Chandigarh on the verdict day to ensure security in the state.
