As per the report, Rock Garden’s replica will be constructed at the Punjab Raj Bhavan in sector 6 Chandigarh. The administration is likely to spend double funds for the construction of the Rock Garden replica at the Punjab Raj Bhavan in Sector 6, Chandigarh.
Construction of the Rock Garden replica delayed
The report mentions that the planning of a replica of Rock Garden at the Punjab Raj Bhavan was conceptualized earlier this year. The Chandigarh Administration had initiated the plan to build a replica of Rock Garden which was to be installed in the Punjab Raj Bhavan but due to some or the other reason the plan never materialized. With the passing time and delay in the execution of the plan, the cost of preparing the replica of Rock Garden also increased.
As per the report, the administration may now have to spend twice the amount of money for the installation of the sculptures at the Punjab Raj Bhavan to construct the replica of Nek Chand’s Rock Garden.
A tender of Rs 14.25 lakh was released by the Chandigarh administration to construct the Rock Garden replica. Recently another tender of around Rs 28 lakh has been released by the administration to materialize the project. This amount is nearly double the amount of which was released earlier for the construction of the replica of Rock Garden at the Punjab Raj Bhavan.

The replica of the pattern of Rock Garden which is being constructed in the Punjab Raj Bhavan will have the special sculptures. As per the report, the sculptures that will be kept at this mini Rock Garden will include sculptures of animals and birds. This replica of Rock Garden is likely to have sculptures of horses, camels, elephants, wolves, dogs, deer, ducks, peacocks and few other animals.
