Chandigarh goes Hong Kong way | Sector 15 market gets smart flowerpots

In an attempt to make the beautiful city Chandigarh even more beautiful, government has installed designer flower pots with beautiful flowers on the railing in Sector 15 market. The initiative has been taken by UT counsellors in an attempt to make Sector 15 as the first green market of Chandigarh. It was stated that the idea to have these flowerpots in Chandigarh markets was taken from Hong Kong. It was during the official visit to the country when counsellors saw public places & market areas in Hong Kong decorated with smart flowerpots and hence the concept has been introduced in Chandigarh.

Baldeo Purushartha, Municipal Commissioner  of Chandigarh and Mukesh Anand, Chief Engineer were the chief guests on the occasion while Saurabh Joshi, counsellor UT installed the flowerpots.

The shopkeepers would be given the responsibility to take care of the flowers and overall general maintenance of flowerpots, so that they are always in good condition. Soon, such smart flowerpots would also be installed in other market areas, making our city Chandigarh look even more beautiful.
