Shimla Covered with Fresh Snow | Winters to Stay Back for Few More Days

Himachal Pradesh shivers as fresh snow cover Shimla and Manali, even heavy rain and hailstorm lashes North India. With fresh snow and rain, North India again came under the grip fo winter season with cold waves. On Tuesday only, Shimla and Manali received heavy snowfall in the morning, whereas, on the other hand, Delhi and Punjab get drenched in heavy rain.

Along with the rain, some part of the Plain also received hailstorm. Due to snowfall and rain, there has been a huge dip the temperature in North India. Check out more details regarding the weather of North India this week below.

Shimla & Manali Shivers with Fresh Snowfall & Plain receives heavy rain

According to the MeT department, Shimla, Manali, Kufri and Narkanda had witnessed heavy snowfall since morning on Tuesday. Not only Himachal Pradesh even Uttrakhand and Jammu-Kashmir have also been covered fresh snow. Whereas the Plain area like Delhi, Punjab, Chandigarh located nearby Hills also received cold waves, rains and hailstorm. Whereas it has been reported that the sudden change in the temperature is due to Western disturbance.

The all fresh snowfall in Himachal has left a smile on the faces of the residents, hoteliers, apple orchardists and tourists. As once again tourists have been heading towards hills to watch out for the fresh snow. Also, the fresh snow ahead of Republic day 2019 has enthusiast tourist for chilly weekends. With rain, Delhi records the lowest temperature of the season at 2.6 degrees Celcius.

Here’s what MeT department has to Say regarding Weather for this week?

IMD (India Meteorological Department) and MeT department have warned heavy snowfall and rain this week. According to IMD, the western disturbance will affect the weather in North India from 24 January onwards. Whereas cold waves, rain, hailstorm and snowfall will reduce the temperature in North India by the weekend. Although Shimla Administration has been all set with precautions to provide tourists with smooth commutation. Also, the minimum and maximum temperature for this week are expected to be near about 9 and 21 degrees Celcius respectively.
