The most awaited sports (racing & adventure) event of Chandigarh SJOBA Rally is here for year 2017. The 30th edition of St. John’s Old Boys Association (SJOBA) rally will begin from 10th March 2017. This time, a total of over 3,000 riders will be participating in the SJOBA Indian Oil Xtrapremium Sub-Himalayan Open Rally in different categories.
It’s the first time that the flag off ceremony of SJOBA Rally will be held near Kunipul (Kunihar) which is 90km away from the city. The vehicles will be examined on the first day at the Sector-34 circus ground. Extreme and Time-Speed-Distance (TSD) Rally is the competitive stage and will be flagged off on the second day.
SJOBA Rally 2017 Route
SJOBA Rally has always been a hard test for the drivers. 2017 edition of SJOBA Rally will be passing through the hills, river beds and unmetalled roads of Himachal. SJOBA Rally participants would be staying the night in Koti and will be in action to cover about 200 km on Day 3. This adventurous rally will terminate at St. John’s High School, Sector 26, Chandigarh.
Other Information About SJOBA 2017 Rally
The prize money for the winners of the SJOBA Rally 2017 is Rs. 4 Lakh. This is for the first time that an air ambulance facility has been introduced at the SJOBA Rally. This rally is open to everyone having a valid driving license and this is the first time that unexplored routes have been introduced at the SJOBA Rally. However, professionals and amateurs can participate in the TSD category of the SJOBA Rally.
The Extreme category at SJOBA Rally 2017 has been classified into Moto (Motor Cycles), Jeeps and Cars. All those interested in participating at SJOBA Rally 2017 can confirm their entries at www.sjoba.in.

10th February 2017 = Entries Open
1st March 2017 = Standard Entry Closes
8th March 2017 = Late Entry Closes
10th March 2017 = Scrutiny and SSS
11th March 2017 = Leg 1 of Rally
12th March 2017 = Leg 2 of Rally
12th March 2017 = Results and Prize Distribution.
Entry fee for SJOBA 2017
There is a fee to participate in the SJOBA rally. The fee varies for different categories.
Extreme 4W Category = Rs. 15,000 (Standard Entries), Rs. 17,000 (Late Entries).
Extreme 2W Category = Rs. 7,500 (Standard Entries), Rs. 9,500 (Late Entries).
TSD Category = Rs. 15,500 (Standard Entries), Rs. 17,500 (Late Entries).
