Chandigarh Based Startup ‘High Mountains’ Will Help Connect Like-Minded Travellers

Two young entrepreneurs from Chandigarh, Taranpreet Singh Gulati and Harjinder Singh Hunjan, are all set to launch their ambitious and unique travel startup ‘High Mountains’ on 27th September, on the occasion of World Tourism Day. The duo shared few special features of the startup with the media at Innov8 coworking space in City Emporium Mall here today.

Taranpreet Singh Gulati, Founder, High Mountains, said, “The venture is a travel and adventure oriented digital community. It will let you make a tailored plan for your chosen destination of travel, whether in India or abroad. The community will provide a solution to the limitations of ‘social media’ by actually connecting the ‘real people you may know.”

The ‘HighMountains.in’ website and mobile App will allow the willing people to become a ‘guide for local tours’, which in turn will give them reviews on their profile and money in their virtual wallet present in the App.

Harjinder Singh Hunjan, Co-founder said, “The ‘High Mountains’ App will also pay money in the virtual wallet of the contributors for their blogs, travel stories, and much more. People will be able to explore ‘the unexplored’ at various destinations and discover unique activities going on nearby.”

The new App will provide the users an option to rent out bikes, cars and even flying machines for their holidays. The users can also listen to the customized playlist and audio notes while on the move. “The digital travel community is dedicated to provide a warm and friendly service to its members and customers at every step of their journey. It’s a one stop shop for everything travel,” added Harjinder, a Commerce graduate from DAV, Chandigarh.

The company plans to provide excellent tourism solutions for every budget and class. The promoters of the startup have good enough experience in tourism industry. Taranpreet is from Manali, where his family runs a hotel, besides other business ventures. They have unique plans for youths to make their trips adventurous and enjoyable. Even the solo-travelers will not feel lonely at any point of time. They will always get good company of like minded travelers. The App will take care of the requirements at every step.

Taranpreet has done Masters in International Business Management from the University of Wolverhampton. Expressing his gratitude towards the parents, he said, “My grandpa S. Jasbir Singh Gulati and my father S. Manjeet Singh Gulati have supported me throughout with this journey, while Mr Paramjeet Singh is the investor behind our project.”

The programme was supported by “Innov8”, a new concept for the first time in Tricity, where several startups share the same office facilities. Taranpreet’s mentor Mohinder Singh Chahal also addressed the media.
