Honeypreet Insan has finally been arrested by the Haryana Police. According to a report, Ram Rahim’s ‘adopted daughter’ Honeypreet Insan was arrested by the Haryana Police on the Panchkula- Zirakpur highway. Honeypreet Insan will be produced before a court tomorrow.
Honeypreet Insan, who was absconding for the last 32 days, has been arrested by the Haryana Police along with another woman. Both the women were travelling in an Innova car when they were apprehended by ACP, Panchkula.
Honeypreet arrested on the Zirakpur-Patiala road
According to the Police Commissioner, Panchkula, Honeypreet Insan and her another woman associate were rounded up from Zirakpur-Patiala road by the Haryana Police.
After getting a tip-off, that Honeypreet Insan was travelling on that road, the ACP who is heading a Special Investigation Team (SIT) rounded both the women while they were travelling in the Innova car.
Honeypreet Insan is being brought to the police station where the Police will interrogate her in connection with the violence that erupted in Panchkula after Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh’s conviction in the 15-year old rape case by the special CBI court in Panchkula.
Legal action against those who helped Honeypreet Insan
Honeypreet Insan had been absconding for over 30 days and topped the list of most wanted persons that was released by the Haryana Police. Honeypreet Insan, dera chief’s adopted daughter, was last seen on August 25 when Ram Rahim was convicted in Panchkula by the CBI court and since then was on the run since then.
It has been reported that all those who helped Honeypreet Insan and provided her shelter during this period, shall also be probed. The police will take legal action against all those who assited Honeypreet in a way or the other.
After receiving inputs from sources Honeypreet Insan was intercepted and “rounded up” by the Haryana Police.
Lookout notice was released earlier against Honeypreet Insan
Earlier, look out notice and arrest warrant was also issued against Honeypreet Insan after she failed to surrender in front of the police over the sedition charges. Honeypreet Insan will now be produced in a local court.
The police are also probing the role of the woman associate who was travelling with Honeypreet Insan in the Innova car. The police will interrogate Honeypreet regarding the violence that erupted in Panchkula on August 25 that claimed the lives of 36 persons. We can not disclose the location where she will be interrogated since these are operational details. Our lady officers are reaching the spot and shall be questioning Honeypreet and her accomplice,” Chawla said.
The police will not disclose the location, for security reasons, where Honeypreet is likely to be interrogated. It was reported that lady officers shall be questioning Honeypreet Insan. Her accomplice will also be questioned by the officers.
