Chandigarh Colleges to Have Centralized Admission For All Science Courses

All the Chandigarh colleges affiliated to Panjab University will have centralised admission for Science courses from the coming session. Candidates seeking admissions in any colleges of the city beautiful will have to fill a single form for any of the Science courses they are willing to opt for the academic session of 2017-18.

How Chandigarh colleges will follow centralized admissions

As per the centralised admission system, a candidate can fill up the common form for any of the three colleges based on his/ her preference in accordance with his/ her merit percentage. Later on, to go ahead with the centralised admission process in different science streams, common counselling sessions will be conducted by the department.

How will centralized admission helpful for students in Chandigarh

The centralised admission system will make the admission procedure an easy affair both for the students as well as for the colleges. Filling up the single form for various courses in Science stream only will ease the burden of the students seeking admission. Now the students will not have to run from pillars to posts in order to get the admission their preferred college.

The centralised admission will be followed in top 11 colleges of Chandigarh for different science courses, including BSc non-medical, BSc medical, Honors in Biotechnology and BSc IT. However, the venue for the admission counselling is yet to be declared officially by the authorities.

The Rashtra Uchha Shiksha Abhiyaan (RUSA), an initiative of HRD Ministry had last year suggested all the colleges of Chandigarh to introduce centralised admission system for all undergraduate courses. In fact, many other cities across India by far have started centralised admission process in their colleges.

Though at present, Chandigarh colleges have started making enrollments of students in BCom courses via the centralised admission process. But we hope, it soon gets started in a more full-fledged form.
