Chandigarh Police has released a recruitment notification for year 2015-2016 where it has invited applications from candidates for the post of constables in the police department of Chandigarh Government. Being a Union Territory, Chandigarh directly falls under the Government of India and hence this official notification about Chandigarh Police recruitment 2015-16 falls under the central government. According to the official circular, Chandigarh Police Department will be recruiting 520 constables in its force in the year 2015-2016.

Name of Post (Designation): Constable.
Number of Posts = 520.

Educational Qualification: 12th from any recognized central or state board.
Height Requirement = 170 cm for males and 157.5 cm for females.
Application Fee = Rs. 500 for General candidates and Free for SC/ST.
Pay Scale for constables in Chandigarh Police = Rs. 10,300 – 34,800 + Grade Pay of Rs. 3200 + Allowance.
There are various relaxations in the age limit, height and other requirements for SC/ST and OBC candidates. Relaxations are also there for wards of serving, retired or deceased Chandigarh Police officers.
Driving Licence is mandatory for male candidates applying for Chandigarh Police recruitment. However this condition has been waived for for female candidates for 2015-2016 recruitments.

- Physical Efficiency & measurement Test (PE and MT) = It will be held in February, 2016 at Police Lines, Sector 26, Chandigarh and IRB campus, Sarangpur.
This recruitment drive of Chandigarh Police for 520 posts of constables is from 1st December 2015 to 31st December, 2015. The fitness tests and other tests will be held in year 2016 and the posting will also be done in year 2016 itself.
Selected candidates can be appointed as constables in any department of Police including – CID, Traffic Police, Operation Cell, Security, IRB, Police Station etc. And also, any constable in Chandigarh Police can be transferred anywhere in India as Chandigarh is a UT and comes under central government.
