TDI Mall in Sector 17 has become the new movie destination for people of Chandigarh as Cinepolis has opened a 3 screen multiplex in the mall. TDI Mall has been thrown open to public and the new multiplex ‘Cinepolis’ will play a major role in attracting crowds.
With Cinepolis going live at TDI Mall, Sector 17 is regaining its lost charm. Cinepolis is a Mexican multiplex chain with over 200 screens in India and plans to have 400+ screens by 2017. The movie ticket rates at Cinepolis are at par with other leading cinema halls and multiplexes in Chandigarh.

Cinepolis has got a 3 screen multiplex at TDI Mall in Sector 17 Chandigarh, which will run 15 movie shows daily. You can expect all latest movies to run at Cinepolis Chandigarh.
Earlier in the past, Sector 17 had 3 cinema halls. I am talking about the times when there were no malls or multiplexes. Jagat, Neelam and KC Theatre were full of activity and with these 3 cinema halls, Sector 17 was the main destination for movie buffs in Chandigarh. KC Theatre was the first one to go away as a market complex was built on that land. Then came the turn of Jagat Cinema, which was demolished to become – what we know today as TDI Mall. However, Neelam theatre still stands strong in the main market area of Sector 17 and even runs latest movies for the public.
With Cinepolis entering Chandigarh, people now have another option to go and watch their favourite movies. Often all cinemas in Chandigarh are housefull especially on weekends and it becomes difficult to get tickets. With cinepolis at TDI mall, the situation will ease a little bit.
