Former Miss World 2000, and actress Priyanka Chopra is all set to come up with her very first Punjabi Film titled “Sarvann”. The second schedule of shooting for Sarvann has started in Chandigarh, this September. The beautiful city attracts a lot of Pollywood as well as Bollywood producers and this time it is Priyanka Chopra’s production house “Purple Pebbles Production” that has chosen Chandigarh as their shooting location. The first schedule of the shooting for Sarvann has been wrapped up in Canada.
Why Chandigarh?
Chandigarh is considered to be the most happening city of Punjab. The beauty of the city has not just attracted the common people but some renowned film-makers also. Earlier, many Punjabi as well as Bollywood movies like Mere Brother ki Dulhan, Dev D, Bodyguard, Son of Sardar and may more have been shot in Chandigarh. Locations of the city can be clearly seen in these movies. Apart from movies, a lot of songs are being shot in Chandigarh. Maybe because the city gives a feel and the look of a foreign city.
Well, even the producers of Sarvann, Priyanka Chopra’s first movie could not resist the beauty of Chandigarh. So, now it is time for Purple Pebble Productions (PPP) to glorify the beauty of the place through their lenses. Apart from the city roads and some colleges around Chandigarh, locations like Sukhna Lake, Rock Garden, Sector 17, Rose Garden, Elante, Leisure Valley can be suitable locations for movie shooting. Whatever the locations be, nothing can beat the beauty and the feel of the city Chandigarh.
Looking forward to the excitement of film makers towards Chandigarh, the Chandigarh Administration once decided to build a Film City, that will be situated at Sarangpur. However the project has not been completed yet.
About The Movie “Sarvann”
“Sarvann” is the first punjabi movie of the PC’s Production house, Purple Pebble Productions. The film has been directed by Karan Guliani and is based on of a young boy’s story who somehow discovers his true identity. Sarvann is being produced by Priyanka’s mother, Dr. Madhu Chopra. “Sarvann” will feature popular punjabi singer cum actor Amrinder Gill, Ranjit Bawa and actress Simi Chahal in the lead role.
We’ll be eagerly waiting for the shooting to get completed and the release of the movie so that we are able to see our city on the BIG screen.
