A Servant in Chandigarh Drugs Family Members, Steals Valuables & Fled

It seems like the crime rate in Chandigarh is increasing on a day to day basis. In yet another incident, that happened in Sector 21 of Chandigarh, three family members including an elderly couple were given poisonous substance in their food by a home servant. The motive behind adding drugs in the food of the owners was to steal valuable things from the home.

About the Incident

The victims who were drugged by the servant have been identified as KS Kang, Satinder Kaur (KS Kang’s wife) and Manpreet (daughter-in-law). They are the relatives of Mohali DC.

The servant has been identified as Ram Bahadur.

The SHO of Sector 19 police station said that Ginni Mangat (Kang’s Daughter) is married to DS Mangat and stays in sector 33 Chandigarh. Ginni called her mother at around 9:30 pm and said that Manpreet was not taking the call. Satinder told Ginni that everyone was feeling dizzy and had slept. After some time, Ginni again called and no one answered the calls. Ginni rushed to her parent’s house in Sector 21 and saw that all the doors were locked from inside except one. The servant, Ram Bahadur fled from that door stealing all the valuables from the home.

The police were immediately informed when the elderly couple and their daughter-in-law were found unconscious. The victims were rushed to Government Multi-Specialty Hospital, Sector 16. Satinder Kaur was referred to PGI and her condition is serious.

No Servant Verification Had Been Done

The family did not go for servant verification. Kang’s family had asked their washerman to look for a servant. The accused had approached the family’s washerman and the washerman further introduced him to Kang’s family. As of now, there is no trace of the servant.

However, Ram Bahadur’s Aadhaar card has been recovered. The police said that he switched off his mobile phone at around 11:40 pm and the last location of his mobile phone was Chandigarh. The accused’s Aadhaar card has an address of Ambala. The police teams have been sent to Ambala and they have started their investigation.
