Verka Increases Their Milk Prices by Rs. 2 a Litre

Verka, one of the most famous and sought after milk brand of North India has increased its milk packet prices by Rs. 2 per Litre. Each pouch of 500 ml will now cost Rs. 1 more as compared to the previous price. These prices have been implemented from the 2nd of August, 2016. Verka has increased the prices of its milk packets after a long time.

The Punjab State Cooperative Milk Producers’ Federation (Milkfed) said that the prices of milk were hiked due to increase in various costs related to storing and processing milk. According to a fact, Verka retails over 10 lakh litre of milk per day. An increase of Rs. 2 per litre will add an additional revenue of Rs. 20 Lakh per day. But, this was needed as various other costs have increased many folds over the past years as the last time when milk price was increased was in year 2010.

So, it is after 6 years that Verka has increased the milk prices.

Verka’s New Prices for Milk:

Verka milk (500 ml) = Rs. 24

Standard milk (500 ml) = Rs. 22

Toned milk (500 ml) =Rs. 20

Double Toned milk (500 ml) =Rs. 18

The new price of Verka full cream 1 litre milk is Rs. 48 while tonned milk will be available for Rs. 40 a litre. However, prices of  all other milk products of Verka like Paneer, Kheer, Curd, Butter remain the same.

Verka is a leading milk brand. It has become a part of our daily lives. People trust this brand due to the quality, freshness and purity of its products.

While the price rise may affect many people but it is a way of life.
