Chandigarh International Airport is progressing day by day. CITCO (Chandigarh Industrial & Tourism Development Corporation) has recently launched an executive lounge at the international airport for travellers to relax and have snacks at the airport. Apart from this, CITCO is soon coming up with a bar at the international terminal of Chandigarh Airport which was much needed as per international standards.
Every airport has a bunch of well managed restaurants and bars for travellers. The domestic terminal of airport did have some snack outlets but since the start of international flights, there was a need of some world class facilities. CITCO came forward to set up an executive lounge which is now operational. However, the bar at CITCO’s executive lounge is not operational as of now.
CITCO Executive Lounge cum Bar at Chandigarh International Airport
It is again CITCO that has come forward to open a bar at the international terminal. A news story in The Tribune reported that CITCO has already got the mandatory excise licence and all other clearances to serve liquor at the airport. We assume that the bar will have a good name and will serve travellers with exclusive liquor options. The bar will be set up within CITCO’s executive lounge area.
After the launch of international flights, we can say that Chandigarh airport is now truly being developed as a world class airport. However, these facilities should have come a little before but we are still glad that they are coming.
International Flights from Chandigarh Airport
Till date 4 international flights have been announced from Chandigarh International Airport. 2 out of these are operational while other 2 will commence operations in coming months.
- Chandigarh to Dubai (Daily) by Indigo Airlines.
- Chandigarh to Sharjah (Thrice a week) by Air India.
- Chandigarh to Singapore (Announced for March 2017).
- Chandigarh to Bangkok (Announced for March 2017).
More flights are soon to be added in the list. We hope long distance flights such as from Chandigarh to European nations or to Canada, USA will soon be announced.
